Angels--my favorite topping of my tree. They come in many different forms--angels do. Protectors, guardians, informants of the greatest news ever--they are simply beautiful. I haven't painted one in a while, and it hit me tonight to create this one. She is obscure with touches of bronze in her wings. Rosy cheeks and lips. Let me know if you want her for your own. Aquire her at my gallery in Athens or online now through Paypal.

I painted this today--in hopes of creating an "impulsive" piece for someone to buy tomorrow or Monday when my gallery will be open as the countdown to Christmas shopping ends. It can be purchased for that special Sundrop drinker in your life. :) It is my umpteenth Sundrop to paint, but this is one of the only ones I can remember that I put a pink background in it. It's fun--painted with a knife in most areas. It will be varnished with a glossy finish--very juicy-looking. Hope you like it!
Acrylic on Canvas, 16x8 $200 plus $15 shipping (after Christmas delivery)SOLD
With New York City having a Starbucks on nearly every corner, we here in our little city of Athens are so excited to have our ONE Starbucks. And we're thankful to the man who has brought so many great businesses to Athens with his talent in selling commercial real estate. Thanks, Bill! So, this is our Starbucks in Athens, Alabama! Isn't it beautiful?? I mean the architecture....

In keeping with my goals to finish 3 more paintings (since the beginning of November) for Christmas for those clients who have been waiting just over a year now, this is my second one to finish. Or so, I'm at that point where I'm going to consider it so. I've been looking at it for quite a while, studying it, etc. and today I finally put the last touches on it--mainly the shadowed area of the porch on the right. It is distorted, yes. That's my style in house portraits--they look happy and musical as though dancing. I hope my client likes it. This is a beautiful home in Birmingham, Alabama. Your comments are welcomed and appreciated!
This is another commissioned painting of the Methodist Church in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. Some of you have requested giclee prints (canvas reproductions) of this piece. So just let me know--it will be available in sizes 24 x 10 for $295. This original is 24 x 10 in acrylic on canvas.

This is the second painting I completed today during my Iron Bowl weekend at the Auburn Art Gallery. Our awesome mascot "Aubie" is up to his old shenanigans again. I love when he pokes fun at all the sports photographers during the game by bringing his own "big gun" lens to shoot with. It's made from a 5-gallon bucket as well as others. This will be made into prints available at auburnart.com in the coming days. This original is for sale at Auburn Art . Com Gallery in Auburn right now.

This weekend I was at Auburn University for the Iron Bowl weekend at the new Auburn Art Gallery right in the middle of all the action. They had me in a window painting all day on Saturday and for a while today on Sunday. It was so much fun, and we sold so many prints, and I even sold this original painting as well. The Momma Goldberg prints debuted, and the original oil painting is on view at the gallery. This painting sold for $900.

At Under the Christmas Tree last weekend--a Christmas Marketplace where I set up a booth to sell my work, I painted on site these 2 small paintings of cups. Well, actually, a friend came by and saw the one on the right and wanted it and asked if I could paint another one similar to be picked up the next day. I said, "Sure!" The story is cool: The wife of this man, Mrs. Fossett, is going to Holland to visit with some American friends who live there still--the Fossetts lived there too some time ago. She is taking these as gifts to her friends since they all loved to share coffee together. I thought that was really sweet! I love the stories that go along with my paintings...I also painted one of my Eiffel Towers which sold as well over the weekend. I didn't get a photo of it....These 2 are 6x10 on wood panels from the awesome Dick Blick. sold
As you may remember from an earlier post that I have alot of commission work to do, and this is one of them. I started this house portrait a couple of weeks or so ago and am about finished. I'm in the studying phase, and I've emailed it to the client for review. Just wanted to post to display the latest on my easel! This is oil on canvas size 24 x 36.

This is an acrylic painting done from a photo I shot this past weekend at the Auburn University vs. Vanderbilt game. After Nova the eagle made his tradtional flight around the stadium, he was being shown off right near us on the field. I grabbed this shot of Nova and his handler. He is one awesome eagle, isn't he? War Eagle!! (the Auburn war cry)

I found this image I shot while in NY last April and thought it would make a great contemporary life painting. It is very wet, fresh off my easel. Hence, the reflections in the image of the texture areas. Hope you like it....

My painting for today--the first of October. I'm going to try and get a new painting daily. Along with working on the Smith Lake home, I painted these tomatoes that had a backlit lighting to them. They must have some drying time before to ship. OK?
5x7 Oil on Canvas

I moved my "studio" out onto our porch since the weather is so unbelievably nice--a great 78 degrees or so. You can see my Smith Lake home coming along--it's at a point of needing to dry some before I really get going on stuff in the foreground--like lawn furniture and landscaping. It won't be much longer though. See my painting buddy too--my boxer Rocco? He's great company.

This monkey painting was begun several weeks ago in a workshop I was teaching. It began as my demonstration and is now finished. Several folks have seen it and loved it in my gallery, but now I'm offering to you online for a great price! More paintings to come, but I will also be showing you progress on my commissioned pieces that need to get done. Happy looking!
From now until the end of the year, I will be working hard to finish commissioned paintings that have been commissioned for about a year now. Each commissioned painting I do is painted in the order in which they are commissioned. And usually when a person comes to me with a new order, there are 10 on my list ahead of their's. So, it doesn't actually take a year for me to paint one--it takes a year sometimes due to my workload as well as trying to balance work and family, etc. I always appreciate the patience of my clients!
This is the first stage of a painting of a home I am painting on Smith Lake in Alabama. It is a beautiful home that sits on a small bluff. Below you can see how pretty the water is--very close to what I remember the Atlantic looking like when I was on my honeymoon in the Virgin Islands! Isn't it remarkable? I'll post more pics of my work as I get more done!

Sweet 'Mrs. Margaret' (in her 80s) commissioned this painting to donate to her church in honor of her parents. She came to pick it up yesterday, and we had such a wonderful visit together too. This painting will hang in the Presbyterian Church (Athens, AL) parlor. It is a 40 x 30 canvas....The scene depicts Jesus with the 2 on the walk to Emmaus (Scripture: Luke 24:13...). What are your thoughts? Giclee prints of this will be available--contact me if interested in one!
